It is amazing how time flies when you are busy. I don't remember a lot about the first couple of years as things were so busy and crazy. I just felt lucky to survive each day. I am sure that the kids felt lucky to survive as well. The birth of the quads totally turned our world upside down. We are still standing upside down but we are doing it with a smile on our faces and loving each day and the adventures we find along the way. Today things are not any less busy or choatic, just different. We no longer have millions of bottles, or diapers, but we now have very distinctive and strong personalities. Each little person is so different and unique. I am so very lucky to have these miracles in my life.
Cassie, the only girl amongst all these boys. However, she is all girl. She loves to have her nails done and wear dresses. But don't get in her way or she will "take you down." I overheard her asking one of her brothers the other day, "Do you want a piece of me?" She is currently taking Irish Dance and loves it.
Nathan started out a 3lbs 1oz. You would never know by looking at him that he was ever a preemie. He loves to read and would watch Rescue Rangers all day if you let him. He is growing up so very fast and it is so fun to watch him do new things. You have to watch him and his identical twin because if they are left alone too long the house will not be standing. Nathan also loves to be outside and jumping into the water.
Jayson also started out at 3lbs 1oz. He is my mischievous one. His favorite saying lately is, "I cannot be good, it is just too hard." I have to turn away and giggle so as not to encourage this. He is also very smooth. Last week I was taking them to preschool and had forgotten their backpacks, so home we headed. He wanted to know why we were going home. When I told him that I was crazy and had left his backpack home he told me, "yes, you are crazy but you are pretty too." So sweet.
Last, but definitely, not least we have Bryan. He was my big boy and started at 3lbs 5ozs. He is surely amazing. For having a hearing loss and being so very sick in the NICU ,(with meningitis ), he has continuously amazed us all. He is speaking so well that if you did not know he had a hearing loss you would never know. He is very articulate and quite the ladies man. He loves to be the center of attention.
I cannot close this post without mentioning the older two. They have been such great big brothers to all of these little ones. They went from being the center of our world to being our big helpers and being pushed to grow up so fast. They are also miracle children and we feel very lucky to have them.
Once again Happy Birthday , my little ones. We are off to Disneyland for some much needed fun!
