Cassie Mouth Surgery!

OUCH!! Poor little girl!!  Cassie did not have enough gums on the bottom teeth to keep the roots covered so she had to have a graft today.  She was a real trooper.  They merely, numbed her up and took skin from the roof of her mouth.

And grafted the skin to the bottom teeth.  This is the bandage they made for her from this putty like substance.  She was very brave!!  I was very proud of my little one.  I think the most horrible part for her..... the numbing process.  She held my hand tight but survived it all.

Then my poor little girl got whacked in the eye with the seat in the van.  I am very afraid that when the pretty little girl wakes up she will have a black eye.  I guess we will not be going many places this weekend.  Whew.... glad today is over!!!  Way to Go Cassie Girl!!!!

Good bye!

What an interesting day it was!!!  Good bye Mega Van!!!  After 8+ years, 145,000 miles it was time to say good bye to the mega van.  I must say..... I had no idea it would be so hard for the kids.  It was like I was taking away their best friend!!!  This van was a great van and we have a lot of great memories.  However, it was time to part ways!!!

Hello MINI VAN!!!!  The kids are not so sure they are wild about it, but me....... loving it!!!  I am so excited to not be stared at as we drive down the freeway, not have to park 100 miles away from a store, and have something that will get better gas mileage!!!  Love it!!!

Twin Love!

This picture totally cracks me up.  We used to have bunk beds however,  these two would not sleep on them.  So we put the twin beds head to head.  That way they have their own space but could touch each other.  Last night when I went in to tuck them in again before hitting the sack..... this is what I found.  Too cute!!!  Funny, how the fight that happened a few hours earlier with one wanting to leave the other one forever..... was soon forgotten.  :>

Fun at Chili's

Daddy decided this morning that since it was a long weekend he was going to head back to AZ and finish getting the rental ready.  After doing 1200 miles in 57 hours last week..... really the only thought that came to mind for me was YUCK!!!  I just wanted to rest and sleep.  Well not sure that I will sleep all weekend but the five of us will hold down the fort!!

After going to Build and Grow at Lowe's we decided to go to Chili's for lunch.  Holy smokes.... seriously,  with the way the kids ate at lunch you would have thought I had starved them for a week.  They had fun!!!  As a side note, I must admit that four kids seems so easy compared to six!!!

Just like DAD!!!

This afternoon Nathan wanted to be an "army man" and was having a great time in Daddy's flight suit and boots.  I had to snap a picture. And then as I was getting ready to put this on the blog...... I found this picture of Hunter when he was little.  They loved to wear Daddy's shoes when they were little.  Oh how fast they grow up!!!  Seems like yesterday he was that little. (In one week he will finish 4th grade.)

I remember when I was little the wait to Christmas each year was endless. Now is seems as though Christmas is always right around the corner.  Treasure these moments!!!Before we know what happened ...... the little ones are gone!!

Goof Balls!!!

Yes, that is how I would describe these two!!  Definitely, GOOF-BALLS!!!  Neither one of them said anything to me all weekend about loose teeth.

And yet at school on a Monday, they both loose a tooth.  I think the only thing that would have made it more funny was if it had been the same tooth.  However,  as luck would have it they came out on opposite sides of the  mouth.  Hmmmm.. mirror twins maybe?!?!?

And of course, they want pictures of the teeth so that you can see them.  Oh sooooo very cool.  I guess the toothfairy will be busy tonight.  Hopefully, she has some money around somewhere or she may be in trouble!!!

Happy Monday Everyone!!!

OH HOW SHE WILL BE MISSED!

This is Ariel.  I think she has become the kids most favorite person in the last six months or so.  Anyone who knows us well, knows it is hard for me to find a good babysitter.  Mostly, because the kids are quite a handful and I have a hard time trusting that all will be well while I am gone.  (I know I need to let go!!)

Well then we met Ariel.  A fabulous young lady!!!  She started out as the kid's piano teacher.  They loved her so much we asked her to babysit.  She agreed!  I was a bit nervous that after one time she would not want to ever come back again. But she did.  So for several months the kids have seen her weekly for lessons and usually twice a week as we have had a lot of social events for base.

She had accepted a call to serve a mission for our church previously and the time has come for her to leave.  Monday is that day and she will be gone for a year and a half.  As happy as we are that she has made this decision....... we are so very sad that we will be saying "see you later.".

A week ago when it was her last day for piano, Bryan struggled to get through the lesson.  He had to go and get a drink because he was in tears and so upset.  Jayson loved to great her at the door and even remarked once," I have waited my whole life for you."  Yesterday after getting some pictures of her before he heads off Bryan and I walked her out front, as we turned to return to the house he took my hand and said, "I am sad already!!".  How sweet and precious!!!  Ariel, we are very proud of you and what you are going to do.  You have touched our lives in a very special way and you have left a mark with my kids that will last a lifetime!!!  Thank you for loving us and accepting our weirdness!!!  Salt Lake City is lucky to get such a wonderful person!!!  "Until we meet again!!" (and thank you Ibarra family for sharing your wonderful daughter with us!)
