So this weekend while Elizabeth was here I was working in the laundry room ,(hard to believe I know) and she wanted to know what happened to my ceiling. When I looked up I saw what she was talking about. So we called the builder and they sent out a plumber right away since it was a bathroom sitting above us. He took up the toilet and discovered that the tile was put in before the wax sealed on the toilet so we have had a slow leak since we moved in over a year and a half ago. Well Pulte, came out on Monday to assess the damage and see where to go next.
Once they started digging they found a little mold and decided to be "safe" rather than "sorry". A restoration team was called in immediately. They sealed off my downstairs laundry room and upstairs bathroom. As they started digging the mold seemed to be only around the baseboard. They treated it and left dryers going over night. lou(which by the way are very loud) Okay, not bad. I should be up and running again next day.Well that would not be the case. Not so lucky. They came back today and their readers indicated that something was not right.
We went from a tiny hole in the wall to........ bathroom cabinet (ruined), tile (ruined), floor under tile (ruined), and wall behind cabinet (ruined). You can see they take their job very seriously. This is the upstairs bathroom, the one right next door to the twins room. I have also put up a gate as there is a huge whole that leads from that bathroom to my laundry room below ( I always thought a laundry chute would be awesome but this is probably not the way to go about it :>) and since my kids have night terrors and they are known for wandering or running into places they should not be at night Iam a little worried.
Anyway, this is my garage (sorry Jay if you are reading this, I promise to make sure it is usable before you get back. LOL) All my laundry room stuff, doors, sinks, toilets, and mirrors. The good news (thanks mom for helping me see the bright side of things ) they found it, they are fixing it , and we are okay.
In the meantime, the kids are going a little more crazy than normal as we cannot go upstairs, except to sleep. I am behind on christmas gifts, cards, decorations, exercise and homework. Not too bad if I do say so myself. And I should have a working laundry room by Friday....... and the bathroom upstairs by end of next week. Very Doable!!!! And it will be new and very clean and I did not have to clean it. NOT BAD!!!
I must share my latest work of art. I have struggled with morning routine. No one can find clothes, I have hangers everywhere and I feel like all I have been doing is arguing with kids to get them out the door by 7:00. So I bought (and put together myself) this shelf. Each kid has a bin with two extra bins for socks. Each night we pick out our clothes for the next morning to include socks. Each morning we get dressed and put our jammies in our bins so after baths we know where they are and we reload it for the next day. For two days now it has been fabulous the kids are on time and we are all happier. So far so good!!!
Well my friends, that alarm is going to go off early so sleep well. But before I go, my brother Bruce Jr. is in the hospital tonight with a pancreas attack. It appears he will be there for a couple of days. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Have a restful night!!!!

Jackie..you are amazing. Taking care of business on your own...but you do what you have to do!!! I hate it when things like that happen and they are out of your control. You have such a postive attitude...like I tell my kids, that will get you where you need to go! Good luck with everything and keep smiling!
